Gwadar is a Largest Port City

According to a recent report from a news source. the government has made the decision to build a breakwater at Jebel-e-Nuh. as part of the extension of Gwadar Port. The total completion of the project anticipated to take place within a time frame. of ten years at an estimated cost of PKR 42.19 billion.

Peaceful berthing conditions:

The development of the berths. that will constructed on the eastern side of the port is contingent upon. the construction of a breakwater, which is a requirement for the growth of the port. This will ensure peaceful berthing conditions for the berths. After ensuring compliance with the Gwadar Port Master Plan (ADL 2007). and the requirements for infrastructure development outlined in the concession agreement. between China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), the industry professionals. came to the conclusion that the construction of a breakwater should be a priority.

The concession agreement:

At the moment, the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) is working in accordance with a master plan. for the expansion of the Gwadar Port and the free zones. that affiliated with it. In accordance with the terms of the concession agreement. The COPHC will be responsible for carrying out the expansion of the Gwadar Deep Water Port. The breakwater will offer sufficient protection. from the tidal effects of the monsoon as well as the powerful waves. and it will also assist in preserving conditions that are suitable for berthing.

The new generation of ships will be able to dock. at the port thanks to the extension of the port in the future. which will involve the construction of berths. and the breakwater will safeguard. the area outlined in Master Plan 2007. In the grand scheme of things. it will make it possible. to provide safe working conditions at the port. including for the handling of cargo. berthing. and unberthing of ships, etc. Gwadar is the second city in Pakistan. to constructed. on a master plan. in accordance with international standards. Islamabad was the first city in Pakistan to undergo this process. In a recent turn of events, the port city has now developed. 

Central Business District:

A new Central Business District (CBD) across an area of 2,500 acres in accordance with the master plan. Road networks have extended to a maximum distance of 280 kilometers. At the Gwadar National Conference, Director General of the Gwadar Development Authority. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qambrani made the announcement of these new developments. The director general also provided information regarding the Pak-China Friendship Hospital. which is now under construction and will have 150 beds. The hospital’s goal is to serve the residents of the port city.

Water for agriculture:

With the most advanced medical services possible. IN addition, he mentioned. that the city is linked to two dams, Shadi Kaur and Sword. by means of a pipeline in order to ensure a constant supply of water. Furthermore, he mentioned. that a sewerage water treatment plant has constructed in order to reuse sewage. water for agriculture and irrigation purposes. The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif. opened the six-lane Eastbay Expressway. while he was in the city of Gwadar. The highway will connect Gwadar with the Makran Coastal Highway and give a link to Karachi.

National highway:

As a result, commuting between. the two port towns would become more simpler. The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) includes. The Gwadar East Bay Expressway as one of its components. This motorway is a main route that port. and free zone traffic will utilize. to join the network of national highways with the purpose of ensuring. that transit runs smoothly. In addition to this, the Prime Minister of Pakistan laid. the foundation for seven brand-new construction projects in the city. some of which include the Gwadar Seawater Desalination Plant. the Hanging Agricultural Industrial Park,

Gwadar Fertilizer Plant:

The Gwadar Expo Centre. and the Gwadar Fertilizer Plant. The Prime Minister has also given instructions to the relevant officials to ensure. that the projects finished within the allotted amount of time. so that the nation as a whole and the people of Gwadar can benefit from them. Updated on February 16, 2023. The Clean and Green Gwadar Project is now  implemented. thanks to a collaborative effort. between the Pakistani Ministry of Climate Change.. and a Chinese official. The creation of greenbelts and public parks. is one of the goals of this effort. which has as its overarching goal. the environmental friendliness of the port city.
