Tourism has been a source of education for mankind for centuries and in return, a huge source of revenue for countries with different history scrolls that wows the world and attracts different people of different cultures and interests to their shores. But today, we now have some unsafe countries not to tour should in case you love touring the African continent of late.
Tourism in Africa has been amazing for most Europeans as there seems to be a wide margin of difference in culture as regards how life is seen from time past even to the present century between Africans and Europeans. This reality has made so many African countries rich in revenue generated via visits by foreigners. Different kinds of business have emerged as a result of tourism in Africa but then, it is he/she that is alive that shall tour the world as he/she wants. This then calls for caution as terrorism has carved a niche for itself within Africa for some decades now. Of late, many countries in Africa are passing through hard times battling the present and after effects of terrorism which has left hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes.
Terrorism has gotten so bad that not even foreigners within some affected areas within Africa can freely move to tour certain regions they intended to to tour. Below are some three(3) out of some fiercely unsafe countries in Africa as far as tourism is concerned.
Libya is known for mass violence where even citizens now seemingly in a lawful manner possess firearms as a result of the zigzag political tussle that took place before the death their President Muammar Mohammed Abu Minyar Gaddafi who was assassinated in 2011 on 20th October.
Libya is now also known for mini slave trading of other Africans who are seeking paths through Libya to get to Europe to seek greener pastures in life as most Africans now lament of hardship in their countries.
2. DR Congo:
Detailed researches and reviews by IRC have revealed that since 1998, an estimate of about 5.4 million people have lost their lives in DR Congo due to conflicts. This conflict death toll is alarming and shows that even if one must tour DR Congo as a ‘do or die’ affair, extreme caution must be taken and used as life jacket because conflicts seems to be a usual ceremony in DR Congo.
3. Nigeria/Lake Chad/Cameroon:
Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon were tagged together because they share common borders and a common enemy which is a terror group called ‘Boko Haram’. Boko Haram is a Jihad war oriented terrorist group that have caused lots of harms across west Africa and are now partially affiliated to the dread Syrian ISIS terror group of late.
Boko Haram have involved in the kidnapping of foreigners within their areas of operations over the years. Some are released after ransoms are paid while some are killed.
Terrorism has made the planet earth seem so unsafe for millions of people out there but things would always get better with excellent leadership in countries affected.
