The President and Founder of the Harriet NewLife Foundation (HANEF) Mrs Lovett Obiakalusi, has called for increased submission from career ladies to their husbands.
Enugu-born marriage counselor, who doubles as founder of the Women of Valour Globlal Missions, made the appeal at her recent birthday celebration held at her Abadana residence at Oji River in Enugu.
The mother of 8 who hosted couples to a Couples Nite, expressed gratitude to God for a blessed life and noted that submission in marriage is a tool to secure a Husband’s heart and not control.
While debunking the notion that submission is control,Lady Obiakalusi stated that submission is ‘willingfully’ surrendering to be led by your man in marriage. She also called on husbands to love their wives regardless.
The lavish birthday celebration was attended by 5 royal fathers along with their wives, State House of Assembly Members, paramilitary men and women as well as visiting couples who returned to the country home from diaspora for the Yuletide.
Mrs Obiakalusi has been married to Mr Benjamin Obiakalusi for 24 years and is the fulfilled Convener of the Valiant Women Award-an award that celebrates worthy women in the marriage industry.
