Board of Internal Revenue who was kidnapped penultimate Thursday has
been released, SaharaReporters just learned. Mrs. Olaoye was released this evening (Thursday) by her abductors
suspected to be armed Fulani herdsmen terrorizing the notorious
SaharaReporters gathered that the release of the female director who
is in charge of PAYE-C in the Ondo State Board of Internal Revenue was
the result of negotiation between the kidnappers and her family members.
A source who is close to the victim’s family confirmed the news to our correspondent in a telephone chat.
The source who pleaded anonymity said the female Director was
released by the side of the road after her abductors confirmed the
payment of a ransom.
“Mrs. Olaoye was released this Thursday evening by her abductors
after family members and colleagues finally raised the sum of N5 million
as ransom to effect her release from captivity.
Mrs. Olaoye is currently on an admission at the Trauma Centre in Ondo
where she is receiving treatment because she is too weak to stand.
“Immediately, she has released some people in her office were
contacted by the gunmen and she was rushed to the government facility at
Ondo town,” the source said in a chat.
Femi Joseph, police spokesman in Ondo State could not be reached for comment over the release of the female Director.
